Interactions with Children - A PlayBot

Learn/Detect Context Automatically inside the study room

- Child returns from school (based on time, school uniform, bagpack)

- Child returns after playing (based on breathing pattern, based on time, based on the sports gear)

- Child is busy in study (based on visual identification of books near the child, voice of reading text loud, voice of recitals of poems, voice of saying tables)

- Child is busy in a hobby (hobbies - singing, playing instrument, painting, sculpting, can be detected from the visual or audio inspection of the study room)

- Child is playing with friends/cousins (by analysing the audio pattern of discussion)

- Gather information about two tasks happening simultaneously for example - reading along with listening to instrument

- Learn child's emotions from body language and start conversing appropriately. If the child requests to stop conversing, then stop until the child further starts a conversation. If the child does not converse that day, start conversing again from the next new day.

Some simple scenarios to begin implementation ...

- When the child steps into the study room in school uniform, greet her with "Good Afternoon" !

- When the child with football in his hands, greet him with "Good Evening" !

- When the child gets at the study table, ask him "homework time" ?

- Accelerate reading - check whether such python plugin already exists, and integrate it with the application

- Discussion - Check whether a python plugin exists for identifying group "discussion" pattern and integrate it with the application

Simulate a group discussion among children and if the children not behaving (by taking turns), then facilitate them to smooth out the discussion

- Tables - what is 5 x 66 and what does it mean? It means tables are only restricted upto 10

Problem - How does the brain identify my location w.r.t. surrounding landmarks?

What do we do once we identify our location? Can we update the soft-map in the car based on the brain signals?

Location - 1 (home)

Landmark 1

Landmark 2

Landmark 3

Location - 2 (bus-stop)

Landmark 3

Location - 3 (market)

Location - 4 (office)

- Say, I want to travel from home to office by car

- There are two major locations which I cross, while reaching the office. One is the "bus-stop" and other is the "market". There are other non-prominent locations on the way, which my brain does not emphasize that much.

- The "bus-stop" has 3 major landmarks surrounding it. If any one or all of the landmarks are identified, a signal is generated in the brain, which in turn identifies the location of bus-stop.

- The "market" has 3 major landmarks surrounding it. If any one or all of the landmarks are identified, a signal is generated in the brain, which in turn identifies the location of "market".

- Here the assumption is, the signal pattern is significantly different for landmarks across a known/prominent location than an unknown/non-prominent location which can be confirmed by AI/ML accuracy.

- Collect the signals in the brain, when my car comes across a known/prominent landmarks. Also, collect few signals when my car comes across unknown/non-prominent landmarks.

- The "distance" is a function of number of times these prominent signals are generated (In our example, if I get a prominent signal two times, means I have reached the "market")

- Based on the number of such locations passed, identify the location where  you have reached.

When I travel to a totally unknown place, I remember a few landmarks (suggested by a family member, or a travel guide or a paper-map. Assume that google map is just like the paper-map. It does not show us our location. Instead the location is updated when a prominent brain signal occurs). When I come across that landmark a prominent signal is generated in the brain. Based on which the "soft-map" in the car gets updated to show my location.

Do I smell bad in India - In other words, what is considered as "smelling good" in India?

What are India's values? What matters for India the most?

- Respect for seniors - Those who do not respect the seniors (however they behave) are viewed very badly in India. It becomes very hard to prove our caliber in India across a senior person. So "respect for seniors", seem a very attractive concept in India, but it can really make the young talent suffer and struggle. Ideally, "respect" for any human should be a default phenomenon. But in India it turns out like "The senior person is always right". And that is harmful.

- "Literal" hard work - India is not able to appreciate the concept of "smart" work yet. That means people who want to do "smart" work and leave the office early, are viewed negatively in India

- Respect for language and culture - India has diverse languages and cultures throughout. Many of the languages are state specific. Many of the cultures are state specific. Even if I consider "Hindi" as a language spoken by maximum states, Hindi has a "respectful" flavor in one state and a "friendly" flavor in another state. Those who appreciate that, are respected in those states. But remember, this respect is "state specific". If a person is respected in one state of India, does not necessarily mean, he/she will be respected all over India. Some habits like "eating with hand" are also culture specific and traditional, which people from outside India are not able to appreciate. As a result a person who eats "rice with a spoon" can easily be considered an "outsider". And not only an "outsider", his or her efforts can be totally discarded as "showing off western manners" and not quite "down to earth" "not quite humble". The number of day to day practices in India are so enormous, that they give people a lot of room to judge the "new addition". It is hard for any person, however "adaptable", to adapt to such a large change and still get judged and not appreciated.

- India values "equality" right from equally "pampering" the children (girls and boys both) to equally "yelling" at children.

- India values "family bond" the most. When it comes to "trust", family members are of first priority to be preferred to do certain task. As a result people with "cross community" marriages suffer a lot, being considered as "outsiders". This "family bond" is at various levels depending upon how "liberal" the family is. At a minor level it is at "cast level", at a higher level it is at "language and culture" level. If the marriage is across two different states in India, "cast, language, culture " everything differs. So for any new addition to the family, there are too many things to adapt. Otherwise, the "new addition" might feel socially isolated. It is obvious that any newcomer in the family will be treated "specially" only for a few days or max for a few months. Later, if the person is not able to adapt or become reluctant to adapt, he/she will automatically become socially isolated. Neither belongs to this family nor that. As a result people prefer arranged marriages in India, which means marriage across "same cast, same language, same culture"

If I can not take care of the children, I will not have them

We can grow along with children, if children are cared properly. Especially when children start learning and if we learn along with them, it...
